How to Plan an Off-Road Accessory System

List every accessory first, then plan relays and protection, and confirm the panel space and sealing.

01 / ACCESSORIES

List Accessories and Load Currents

Write down each accessory, such as light bars, work lights, winch, compressor and fans, with its steady and startup current. Note which ones run together so the total load on the battery and wiring is clear.

02 / RELAY & PROTECTION

Plan Switching via Relays and Fuses

Use the switch to control a relay coil when the accessory current exceeds the switch rating. Give each circuit its own fuse or breaker sized to the wire, and keep high-current runs short and protected.

03 / PANEL & SEALING

Confirm Panel Space, Illumination and Sealing

Check the mounting position, cut-outs and rear depth for the switch panel. Confirm illumination color, symbols and the sealing level needed for dust, mud and water exposure.
