01 / LOCK TYPE & CUT-OUT
Note whether the door uses an entry lock, deadbolt, cam lock or paddle latch. Measure the cut-out height and width, screw hole spacing and the position of the latch relative to the door edge.
02 / DOOR & HANDING
Measure the full door thickness, including any interior panel. Stand outside facing the door: hinges on the left usually mean a left-hand door, hinges on the right a right-hand door.
03 / KEYING & FIT
Decide whether locks should be keyed alike or keyed differently, and how many keys are needed. Check the strike position, frame clearance and fasteners so the new lock installs without modifying the door.
Share photos and measurements of your existing lock or door drawings, and our team will help match the right hardware.
